Using a computer projector in class is a great way to look professional and prepared. Presentations with computer projectors work well both with large and small groups, and can be easy to integrate into classroom discussions and activites. But using a computer projector can also be problematic. Look at these tips before you use one in class:
- Make sure that your classroom and school are equipped with the correct facilities. Practice the presentation with the equipment you are going to use before you go to class.
- Make sure you have a whiteboard available. Many schools use the whiteboard as the screen for the projector, and this becomes a problem if you want to keep something on the board during class.
- Give yourself plenty of time to create the presentation. Add pictures, videos and sound to make it more interesting and interactive.
- Presentations are easy to update, so be sure to tweak your lesson every time you use it. There is nothing worse for a student than realizing that his/her teacher is using the same presentation from 2003!
Just for fun!
