Kid's Box, by Caroline Nixon and Michael Tomlinson, is a six-level course for young learners. This course will give them a confident start to learning English and is packed with brilliant, inspiring ideas that will not only motivate students, but teachers as well!
In Kid's Box, students will meet the Star family - Simon, Stella, and Susy - and be delighted by their escapades. Within a no-pressure context, students will learn along with the members of the Star family through fantastic songs, amusing stories, and communicative activities. Absolutely everyone of every age will have fun with this series.
The series also takes young learners through the language they need to know on the syllabus of the Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) tests.
Key Features
- Key language is consistently recycled and revised throughout the levels.
- Pronunciation sections help students to practise language in a non-threatening environment. Watch for each section! "Say it with Monty" in Levels 1 & 2, "Say it with Stella" in Levels 3 & 4, and "Say it right" in Levels 5 & 6.
- Levels 1 & 2 feature "Our World" cross-curricular sections where students build on their knowledge of the world outside of the classroom. Levels 3 to 6 continue on with topic sections, giving pupils an introduction to learning other subjects through English.
- Levels 2, 4 and 6 contain YLE-type tests to help assess the children's progress and familiarise them with the YLE exam format.
- The interactive DVD reinforces language in a memorable way by bringing the language to life. And we're not the only ones who love the DVD: the Level 1 DVD was nominated for a 2009 British Council Innovation Award.
